Welcome to the Documentation Centre of the International Council on Monuments and Sites! The ICOMOS Documentation Centre specializes in cultural heritage, historic monuments and sites, their conservation and restoration. The ICOMOS Documentation Centre is the primary repository for the original documentation of the cultural and mixed (natural and cultural) properties that have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1978.
Due to ICOMOS’ relocation to its new address in Charenton-le-Pont (near Paris) in May 2014, the ICOMOS Documentation Centre will be closed from Monday 14 April 2014 for an indefinite period.
Services and information desk will not be available during this time.

The year 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of the Nara Document on Authenticity. Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs is planning a conference to celebrate this anniversary in October 2014.
ICOMOS Japan will cooperate with the Agency on this event. As part of the preparation, Prof. Toshiyuki Kono, a member of ICOMOS Japan and the Executive Committee, has taken the initiative to plan the conference. This is part the preparation for the 2014 ICOMOS General Assembly in Florence as well.

From November 27 to December 2, 2011, nearly 1,200 professionals and experts active in the field of heritage gathered at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris for the Tri-Annual General Assembly of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). Simultaneously, the international symposium, “Heritage, a Driver of Development” was held at the same venue.
