Two Invited Experts to the ICOMOS Board
Mohammad Yosof Al-Aidaroos
Mohammad Yosof Al-Aidaroos is an expert member of International Committee on Earthen Architectural Heritage (ISCEAH). He is a consultant at the National Built Heritage Centre under the tutorship of the Saudi Commission for Tourism & Antiquities. He works in coordination with Built Heritage Sites managers to advise them to meet the criteria and standards of conservation and rehabilitation. He also manages nomination files and the management plans of some of the built heritage sites inscribed on the World Heritage List, such as At-Turaif District in ad-Dir'iyah and Historic Jeddah, the gate to Makkah. Finally, he participates actively in numerous local and international conferences such as TERRA and SOStierra.
Khalid El Harrouni
Khalid El Harrouni is an expert member and the vice-president of the International Committee on the Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage (ISCARSAH) and the vice-president of ICOMOS Morocco. He is also a member of the International Committee on Energy and Sustainability (ISCES). Professor of civil engineering and computational mechanics, he is a director of research at the National School of Architecture of Rabat (Morocco). He obtained a PhD in computational mechanics from the University of Portsmouth in 1994. For more than 30 years, he has worked in civil engineering, urban planning, building energy efficiency, advanced computational techniques and heritage architecture.
