ICOMOS Canada and Héritage Montréal organise a virtual round table on the occasion of the International Day for Monuments and Sites. This virtual round table, taking place on 1 April, marks the sixth anniversary of the fire at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. This presents an opportunity to discuss the awareness and preventive action to effectively respond to fires damaging heritage buildings and complexes.

Therefore, the round table discusses the questions: How can we reduce the vulnerability of our heritage to fire and other hazards? What experiences could we learn from?

The panel will be moderated by Dinu Bumbaru, Director of Policy at Héritage Montréal, and Laurent Généreux, architect and member of the Board of Directors of ICOMOS Canada. The following panelists will be present:

  • Daniel Beaulieu (Director of Prevention and Mutual Aid, Mutuelle d’assurance en église)
  • Chantal Bibeau (Assistant Director, Prevention and Integrated Risk Management, Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal)
  • Benjamin Mouton (Chief Architect and Inspector General of Historic Monuments, former Vice-President and President of the French Section of ICOMOS)
  • Serge Villeneuve (Deputy Director Operations, Service de sécurité incendie de Montréal)

NB. This event will be held in French.
