Monday (2 Dec) saw the opening in Madrid, Spain of the 25th meeting of the Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP25). The 2-week long summit represents the year’s most concentrated period of climate policy work, making it a critical event for anyone concerned about climate change. ICOMOS will have a significant engagement at this year’s COP, strengthened by the release in July of its new report: “The Future of Our Pasts: Engaging Cultural Heritage in Climate Action.”
ICOMOS Macedonia celebrated its 25 years of activity on 29 November on the occasion of the National Committee Assembly session.
ICOMOS International was represented by Board member Nils Ahlberg during this meeting, whose list of participants included eminent guests such as Ms Irena Kolishtrkoska Nasteva, Speaker of the National Committee Assembly, the Minister of Culture Dr. Hisni Ismaili, the President of the National Commission for UNESCO, Mr. Edmond Ademi and ICOMOS Members from neighbouring countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and Kosovo).
US/ICOMOS is seeking graduate students and emerging professionals as well as hosts organizations to participate in their International Exchange Program (IEP) during the summer of 2020.

The IEP program enables graduate students and emerging professionals to strengthen their skills and acquire new professionnal experience while hosts organizations (in the US and abroad) will make international connections and support the training of new professionnals.
The annual meetings of ICOMOS took place this year in Marrakesh, Morocco, from 12 to 18 October 2019, at the magnificent Mohammad VI Cultural and Administrative Complex of the Habous. The week was very busy for the ICOMOS members attending: in addition to the working meetings (Board, regional groups and International Scientific Committees meetings, Scientific Council, National Committees forum, Advisory Committee, Annual General Assembly), many sessions allowed members to discuss and exchange views on key heritage topics - see the full programme of meetings.
