Compelled by the increasing severity and urgency of the threats posed by climate change to World Heritage properties across the globe, ICOMOS announces its support for a new draft “Policy Document on Climate Action for World Heritage.” The new draft is intended to update the World Heritage Committee’s current climate change policy, which dates to 2007.
On 16 July 2021, the Extended 44th session of the World Heritage Committee begins in Fuzhou, China.
The World Heritage Committee session will take place virtually from 16 to 31 July 2021 on the dedicated website. Some members of the ICOMOS delegation are participating online from the ICOMOS International Secretariat in Paris.
