PANORAMA Nature-Culture Write-shop
In December 2021, the ICOMOS Secretariat together with the ICCROM-IUCN World Heritage Leadership programme will hold a write-shop (writing workshop) dedicated to ICOMOS members for the preparation of case studies, in this context “solutions”, to be submitted for inclusion on the PANORAMA Nature-Culture Thematic Community.
The key objective of the write-shop is to support participants in the process of reflecting on their work so they can prepare solutions and contribute to promoting the work of ICOMOS and its global membership in the PANORAMA platform. This write-shop aims at providing all the information needed to draft and publish a “solution” on the PANORAMA platform. Through the sessions, participants will learn about the PANORAMA Partnership initiative, the “solution-ing” approach, and the joint ICCROM-ICOMOS-IUCN Nature-Culture Thematic Community.
During the write-shop participants will:
- Familiarise with the PANORAMA initiative and how everyone’s work can benefit from it;
- Learn about the “Solution-ing” approach and the structure of PANORAMA solutions;
- Explore the PANORAMA website and learn about its functionalities (e.g. filter, thematic communities, how to publish a solution);
- Share your own knowledge and experience by identifying your own solutions;
- Sharing experiences and lessons learned while publishing a solution.
This PANORAMA Nature-Culture write-shop consists of two sessions and an optional consultation meeting:

About the PANORAMA Nature-Culture Thematic Community
The PANORAMA Nature-Culture Thematic Community is a joint ICOMOS, ICCROM and IUCN project that focuses on sharing case studies where the interlinkages between nature conservation and the safeguarding of cultural heritage are crucial for the effective management and sustainable development of heritage places.
It presents place-based and people-centered approaches which highlight the relationship of natural and cultural diversity and provide a source of exchange between World Heritage properties, heritage places and practitioners.
