ICOMOS Side Event "Sites of Memory" 

During the 42nd World Heritage Committee Meeting that is being held in Bahrain, ICOMOS, with the support of UNESCO’s World Heritage Centre, has organized the side event “Sites of Memory” on Wednesday 27 June 2018.

During the side event three papers were presented: Guidance and Capacity Building for the Recognition of Associative Values using World Heritage Criterion (vi) prepared and presented by Christina Cameron, the Interpretation of Sites of Memory prepared by the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience presented by Christopher Young and the ICOMOS Discussion Paper on the Evaluation of World Heritage Nominations related to Sites Associated with Memories of Recent Conflicts presented by Susan Denyer.
