At the 2023 General Assembly in Sydney, Disaster and Conflict Resilient Heritage - Preparedness, Response and Recovery was selected as the theme for the Triennial Scientific Plan (TSP) 2024-2027. The first year of the plan focuses on how we can prepare for possible disasters, through the prevention and mitigation of hazards, improving resilience, as well as by preparing for conflicts that threaten our cherished heritage resources.

In this context, one might ask in 2025: How can members and constituent Committees of ICOMOS better prepare for these disasters? What role can we play collectively, and what do we need to be effective in that work?

The nomination of the satellite originated from ICOMOS' International Scientific Committee on Aerospace Heritage, which was launched in 2023.
As a new era of space exploration dawns, international collaboration is required to protect the physical artifacts of early Moon landings.

Joint UNESCO/ICOMOS mission to L'viv region to provide assistance in advanced documentation and emergency preparedness

UNESCOICOMOS LvivFrom 28 October to 2 November, a joint UNESCO/ICOMOS mission on Advanced documentation of the state of conservation and emergency preparedness planning for the Church of St. George (Drohobych) and the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit (Potelych), components of the World Heritage property ‘Wooden Tserkvas of the Carpathian Region in Poland and Ukraine’, took place in the L'viv region. 7 experts from ICOMOS participated in the mission.
