The ICOMOS International Secretariat is moving in May 2014 !

Dear ICOMOS members, colleagues and friends,

The ICOMOS International Secretariat will be moving to its new premises in Charenton-le-Pont (near Paris – 10  minutes by subway from Place de la Bastille) in the week of 26 May.

The whole team is involved in preparing and packing our documentation, archives etc. for the move and re-installing everything in our new offices. We therefore thank you for your understanding that during the month of May and into mid-June, we will not be able to respond to all queries and will only be able to concentrate on urgent priorities.

Blue Shield Statement on Ukraine

Download the statement issued by the Blue Shield, of which ICOMOS is a founding member, on the worrying situation of cultural heritage in Ukraine. 

This statement was elaborated in close cooperation with ICOMOS Ukraine and the Ukraine National Blue Shield Committee presided by the President of ICOMOS Ukraine, Mykola Yakovyna.

Online survey: the Nara Document on Authenticity

The year 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of the Nara Document on Authenticity. Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs is planning a conference to celebrate this anniversary in October 2014.
ICOMOS Japan will cooperate with the Agency on this event. As part of the preparation, Prof. Toshiyuki Kono, a member of ICOMOS Japan and the Executive Committee, has taken the initiative to plan the conference. This is part the preparation for the 2014 ICOMOS General Assembly in Florence as well.

New Partnership ICOMOS-OWHC: Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding

The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) wishes to announce that its Director General, Mr. Philippe Allard, will be leaving the Paris-based ICOMOS International Secretariat. During his service to ICOMOS, Mr. Allard has contributed to the strengthening of ICOMOS’s organisational capacity, a phase that began in the period of 2008-2011, and has aimed to expand the horizons of its non-profit work through new ideas and the development of the Secretariat’s capacities.
