ICORP Türkiye's Workshop on Disaster Risk Management Following the February 2023 Earthquake
From July 2 to 6, The ICOMOS Türkiye National Scientific Committee on Risk Preparedness (ICOMOS ICORP Türkiye) held a "Disaster Risk Management on Cultural Heritage: Emergency Preparedness and Response for Effective Recovery" workshop in collaboration with the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and the World Monuments Fund (WMF).
Completion of the first phase of the capacity-building programme on Incorporating Sustainable Development into the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention in the Arab States Region
On June 25, The Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH), the Heritage Commission in Saudi Arabia, and the ICOMOS Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGWG) concluded the online phase of the capacity-building programme on Incorporating Sustainable Development into the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention in the Arab States Region.
ICOMOS becomes part of the ECHOES consortium for the creation of a Collaborative European Cloud for Cultural Heritage
The European Cloud for Heritage Open Science (ECHOES) project, led by the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), aims to establish a European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH) as a shared platform for heritage professionals and researchers to access data, innovative scientific and training resources and advanced digital tools co-developed by the cultural heritage community.
ICOMOS is part of the project's consortium of 51 public and private cultural heritage field actors working towards the implementation of this digital ecosystem.
ICOMOS Launches Initiative to Highlight the Heritage Value of Transhumance Cultural Landscapes
Led by ICOMOS and supported by the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the project "Defining a thematic approach towards sustaining transhumance cultural landscapes in a changing environment" aims to address the complex environmental, cultural and social dimensions of transhumance, promoting international cooperation and building awareness of its contribution to the heritage of humanity.
